HELPING FURNITURE LIVE LONGER.
Millions of tonnes of perfectly good furniture are thrown out every year, with 90% being sent straight to landfill or burned. Revitalising existing furniture with Bemz covers prolongs an item’s life and prevents unnecessary waste. It also saves 241 kgs of CO2 compared to replacing with a newly manufactured sofa. It’s wonderful to think that 85% of Bemz customers create their covers for furniture they either already own, have been given or are buying second hand.

Circularity and Bemz covers go hand in gentle hand. Our thoughtful products – always designed with maximum use in mind – have been giving faithful pieces of furniture a second (and third, fourth and fifth) lease of life since 2005. And thanks to our made-to-order concept, we completely avoid over-production. What’s one of the textile industry’s biggest sustainability challenges is 0% at Bemz.

Supply chain sustainability at Bemz includes social and environmental responsibility. Naturally we are committed to universal human rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our robust Supplier Code of Conduct, based on the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the core conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), lays out our stringent principles for human rights and good labour conditions. Each supplier we work with must commit to and comply with this code. To minimise environmental impact and social risks, we always prioritise European-sourced products and fabrics and work closely with our manufacturers to secure a high standard of sustainability throughout our entire supply chain.
