Design Tales' dramatic take on Bemz’ fabric collection
The most eye-catching IKEA hack around
Laura and Nora, the creative duo behind Design Tales and Our Food Stories have a discerning eye, their signature dark ‘n’ moody aesthetic has garnered a large dedicated audience eager to pique their palate and palette (see what we did there).
The Design Tales studio in Berlin was given a Bemz-approved makeover, when the stylist and photographer team conceptualised their take on Bemz fabric collection. With statement floral arrangements by Mary Lennox, the dramatic look d’jour provides the ultimate backdrop for what can only be classed as boldest IKEA hack ever.
True to form, the IKEA Söderhamn sofa was given a moody makeover with an inky velvet Bemz cover in Indigo Simply Velvet, sleek Sergel furniture legs complete the look. The industrial style setting, textured lime washed walls and dried palm leaf accents juxtapose the luxe velvet.
For the second fabric curation, a Bemz Loose Fit cover in Pebble Brera Lino by Designers Guild transforms the modern and streamlined sofa with a bohemian-leaning aesthetic. The warm, jute-like hue of the 100% linen slipcover and rich hydrangea florals lend a romantic air to the otherwise restrained look.
For a high octane approach a boudoir-esque Rust Simply Velvet cover elevates an IKEA Söderhamn one seater section while the graphic black furniture legs highlight the minimalist shape of the piece. Hot tip: to totally transform the look opt for our 18cm sofa legs - by playing with proportions and altering the height you can truly make the look your own.
In this final installment, the IKEA Söderhamn one seater section was dressed to impress with a Bemz Loose Fit cover. We don’t know about you but the warm earthy colours, the tactile, knotted texture of the Unbleached Rosendal Linen cover and rustic elements has us longing for warmer latitudes.
