Expression at Home with Henrietta Fromholtz
Henrietta Fromholtz’s world is colourful, creative and full of personality – and so is her newly renovated villa in Stockholm. A beauty consultant and ELLE blogger, Henrietta blends family life with bold design. She brings her expressive, guest-friendly style to every corner, mixing vintage finds and playful patterns with practical joy.

FROM FUNCTIONALISM TO FAMILY LIFE
Despite being a lifelong lover of clean, functionalist design, Henrietta found herself drawn to the character and quirks of the villa with its curves, character and creaky floors. This is exactly what makes the process interesting for her. And she approached each space with a clear mindset: make it liveable, make it lovely – and make it last.
“I wanted the house to feel warm, playful, but also like I’ve grown up,” she says.
The result is a space that feels personal, intentional, and full of unexpected charm.

A HOME FOR EVERYONE
For Henrietta, home is meant to be shared. A place made to live in, not just look at. “We want lots of people to be able to stay over!” she says. One of her non-negotiables during the renovation was creating a multi-use office that could also serve as a guest room. Other must-haves? Washable fabrics, safe furniture, and smart storage – all designed to meet the joyful chaos of family life.
The playroom is a standout example: a space she carved out by removing a small staircase and bathroom. “Toys can be taken out however they want, where the girls can be creative without mom saying clean up.’” And it includes a speaker for daily disco sessions. “I always keep mess and play in mind. That’s just reality,” she adds.

PLAYFULNESS MEETS PERSONALITY
Henrietta’s also not afraid to lean into nostalgia, even if it’s a bit unexpected. “I’m tempted to print out photos and cover a whole wall with them. Feels a bit 90s… maybe it’ll go in the basement!”
Henrietta’s home embraces contrasts: clean lines sit beside frilled textures and calm tones mingle with leopard print. She describes herself as a lifelong vintage lover, often on the hunt for second-hand treasures that add both charm and character to her space. Her boldest decision? A yellow bedroom with a checkered floor. “A lot of people questioned it,” she says. “But I’m so glad we didn’t hold back.”
Right now, she’s still obsessed with yellow, auction finds, and ‘small’ art. “I haven’t really put up many paintings yet, but the plan is to hang lots of small pieces, or maybe just one gigantic one.”

BALANCING ENERGY WITH CALM

A LIFE BETWEEN TWO PLACES
Though Stockholm is home, Mallorca holds a piece of her heart. The island has become a beloved second home for Henrietta and her family.
And while the island hasn’t made its full mark on the interiors just yet (beyond a charming second-hand apple inscribed with “Mallorca”), it’s only a matter of time. “It will me many more second-hand hunts on the island,” she says. “This house is longing for more of that.”

DESIGNING WITH RHYTHM
When asked to pick a song that matches her interior style, Henrietta admits her taste in music doesn’t exactly align. “I love top hits, old tracks, Pitbull… but this morning, I was sitting in my blue armchair listening to Dolly Parton’s In the Ghetto. That felt right.”
The honesty in that moment is what makes her home feel so grounded. It’s not curated to perfection – it’s full of energy, humour, and heart. Just like Henrietta.

BUILT FOR LIVING
Henrietta’s home isn’t a showroom. It’s a space shaped by the simple joy of welcoming others in. A mix of structure and softness, vintage finds and practical design — layered with love, chaos, and plenty of personality.
“I renovate and decorate with guests in mind,” she says.
But more than that, La Villa Fromholtz is a love letter to family life in full colour – and the design freedom that comes with it. Because this isn’t a space for perfection. It’s a space for people.
