MAKING A CREATIVE PIVOT
What started as a love of travel and sourcing hidden gems, grew into an Instagram account: @sophiastraveljournal, and a new lens on home. As Sophia says: “Interiors became my new playground, a space where I could tell my story through emotion and instinct.”

Sophia describes her home as “a never-ending mood board.” Not perfectly finished, but always in motion. This sense of openness is part of what makes the space feel alive. It’s not about perfection, but evolution.
“That’s the beauty of it,” Sophia says. “It’s always fresh, authentic, and uniquely mine.”

LIVING WITH NATURE
One of the defining elements of Sophia’s home is the presence of nature found in the materials and mood of each room. “Nature has always been my sanctuary,” she says. “I grew up in the Swedish countryside, so I’ve always felt most at home among trees and tranquility.”

Throughout the apartment it’s evident in the palette of soft greens, stony greys, and warm beiges. In the tactile choices of wood, wool, boucle, linen. A SENSE OF HOME
When asked what makes her house feel most like home, Sophia doesn’t hesitate to answer. “Our kitchen. It’s where we cook, gather, play music… it’s the heart of everything.”
Music plays constantly. “We deeply love it in our family,” she says. And if her home had a soundtrack? It would be Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan. It’s soulful, layered, and a little raw, exactly how Sophia wants her space to feel.

As our time with Sophia winds down, it’s clear that what she’s building is more than a beautiful space. It’s a reflection: of places she’s been, values she holds, and the evolving story of her life. “It’s all about creating a peaceful oasis that feels like a retreat,” she says.
Sophia’s home isn’t aspirational in the traditional sense, it’s honest. It holds light and life, contrast and calm, imperfection and intention. It doesn’t perform. It reflects.
