Pythagoras by Sven Markelius
Featured Designer: Sven Markelius
Following our first three collaborations with Designers Guild, Littlephant and Christian Lacroix, we’re proud to introduce our fourth design partnership – this time with iconic Swedish architect and designer Sven Markelius (1889 - 1972). We’ve invited renowned Swedish interior designer Jacob Hertzell to share a curation based on Sven Markelius’ famous Pythagoras print, commissioned in the 1950s as part of the UN building's interior design. Jacob has mixed and matched this print with cushion covers from Bemz in Absolute White, Sun Yellow, Mandarin Orange and Teal Blue to create a stunning 50s inspired look that you can now recreate in your own home. Here Jacob has chosen to feature Pythagoras on a Stockholm sofa.
Hand printed, Handmade - One of a Kind
The fabric will be hand printed in Southern Sweden before it is hand cut and sewn by one of our seamstresses, so no two covers will be alike. Consider this addition to our Anniversary Collection as a piece of art - each one we create will be a one-of-a-kind, limited edition investment for your home. It’s waiting for you to discover right now and will only be available until the end of this year. Pythagoras is now available as a very exclusive sofa cover for the following IKEA models: the Stockholm 3 and 3.5 seater sofas, the Söderhamn 3 seater sofa and Söderhamn 3 seat section, the Klippan 2 and 4 seater sofas, the Karlstad 3 seater sofa, the Karlanda 3 seater sofa and the Kivik 3 seater sofa.
