Stig Lindberg’s playful and sophisticated style shines through in the Tallyho print - a graphic representation of stylised apples - now available as a Bemz cover for your favourite IKEA furniture in both Blue and Nearly Black. Stig Lindberg studied at the Swedish State School of arts, crafts and design in Stockholm, hoping to become a painter. Lindberg was employed by one of the preeminent ceramics houses in Sweden and worked with Gustavsberg’s studio until 1980 when he then moved to Italy to establish his own studio. Over the years, he has been awarded gold medals and grand prix at the Triennale Exhibitions.
We’ve chosen Stig Lindberg as a Bemz design partner because of the timelessly beautiful nature of his patterns. In addition to Tallyho, we’ve reproduced two famous textile designs called Bulbous and Herbarium. These designs have been reprinted by Bemz for the first time since the 1960s, and are available across the entire Bemz range. We feel that they fit perfectly with our feeling of Scandinavian design and the revived interest in retro design.
