The Bemz style

In many ways, Katarina’s look is synonymous with the Bemz style. Broad in her design influences, “Katta”, as we like to call her here at Bemz, has a clear vision and distinctive style that is essential to the Bemz design process. Whether she is interpreting a classic design or creating new, innovative styles and patterns, her use of colour and form is uniquely her own - resulting in the fresh, playful colours and patterns that you will see throughout our Bemz collection.

Visual red thread

Katarina’s role as Bemz in-house designer is to weave a visual “red thread” into every series of Bemz textile that she creates. She attended Konstfack, the preeminent design university in Stockholm and has an MFA in textile design. Multi-talented Katarina’s portfolio includes costume and set design for theatre as well as design for public spaces.

Brick Building Pink

Katarina designed Brickhouse Pink (pictured below) as part of our 10th Anniversary Collection. The pattern was inspired by her childhood love of cartoons and the candy coloured world they lived in. The fabric is available as a limited edition print while supplies.
