Your most burning questions, answered…
Yes! All of our products are machine washable. Depending on the textile you choose, it should be washed at either 40°C or 60°C. Use a mild liquid detergent and hang to dry, do not tumble dry or use any type of heat. See our Bemz Care Guide for more information.
We get this question often. And the short answer is, unfortunately, no. The fabric we use in all of our covers is tested to meet many different standards. Firstly, it has to fit the IKEA furniture we cover perfectly. We aim to create products that our customers love and a good fit is fundamental. It has to be machine washable not just once, but for up to 3 years’ worth of washing because that is our product guarantee - and it still has to fit perfectly after repeated washings. It has to be of a very high quality - because that’s all we sell - quality. If the material has a pattern, we have to be sure that we can match that pattern in a way that still looks great as a sofa cover. And finally, our sewers are human beings. Sometimes they use machines and sometimes they sew by hand, but to err is human and we (like you!) would feel terrible if your fabric got torn by accident. We have no doubt that the fabric you have in mind is beautiful. But we can’t guarantee the end result will meet our high standards so we have chosen not to go down this path.
You have an old IKEA sofa but can’t seem to find your model on our site? We can help. IKEA has made thousands of different sofa models over the last 70 years and we haven’t created a cover for them all (yet!) so sometimes this happens. First, look under shop products for a list of every model we do cover. If your model isn’t listed, you can email us your IKEA model name (or a photo instead, if you don’t know what it’s called) and we’ll contact you if/when we start making that cover.
Bemz specialises in covers for the IKEA models shown on our website but we do also offer a line called Multi-Fit, which might be just the thing you need. Read more about Multi-Fit or contact us for more details.
For now, unfortunately we can only create full sets of covers for a complete sofa. This is because sofa covers fade over time due to the sunlight in your room or repeat washing, so if you were to replace only one cushion, it would be a different colour from the rest of your sofa. And we don’t really recommend that look!

Probably not. For most IKEA sofas and armchairs, you simply have to swap the old legs for the new ones. But, for the perfect fit, some models need a universal mounting plate, (such as the Karlanda and Tomelilla sofa/armchair).
To find out if you need a mounting plate, check the bottom of your sofa to see if there’s a hole underneath for screwing in your new legs. It should be around 8 mm in width – enough to accomodate a standard M8 screw. Still unsure? Contact our Customer Service team, they’ll be happy to help!
As long as the furniture is fitted with an M8 screw, our replacement legs fit most IKEA models and other brands of sofa, armchair and soft furnishing. We recommend these IKEA models:
